Jonas Brothers Summerfest Stop in 2008!

Call them the Jonas Brothers. Call them Jo-Bro. However you call it, these guys are the biggest thing since sliced bread. I am WAY too old to understand the sensation, but after selling out countless venues, Summerfest has announced that the Jonas Brothers will play the 23,000 seat Marcus Amphitheater on July 6, 2008. Can these guys sell that place out? I understand The Rave, but 23,000 screaming 15 year old girls! OMG!
The Jonas Brothers have released two albums. The most recent is self-titled with singles like, "Hold On", "Kids of the Future" and "Year 3000". It's like Hanson all over again. The brunette version, if you will.
Summerfest and Ticketmaster have announced that Jonas Brothers tickets will go on sale Saturday, March 15th at 11a and Jo Bro tickets will be $30, $45 and $55 before additional service fees. There will be an opening act, though it hasn't been announced yet.

Other Festivals on the Summerfest Grounds in 2008

Besides the ten days of the Summer the Henry Maier Festival Park is taken over with drunks, better known as Summerfest. The grounds play host to a number of wonderful festivals. Here is the schedule for the festival grounds in 2008. I would highly recommend attending any of them as the food and people watching is always enjoyable.

HENRY MAIER FESTIVAL PARK CALENDAR OF EVENTS 2008

Miller Lite Ride for the Arts June1

PrideFest June 6-8

Polish Fest June 20-22

Festa Italiana July 17-20

German Fest July 25-27

African World Festival August 1-3

Arab World Fest August 8-10

Irish Fest August 14-17

Mexican Fiesta August 22-24

Labor Fest September 1

Indian Summer Festival September 5-7

In between these dates, you will find me at Miller Park watching my Milwaukee Brewers kick some MLB butt! Brewers tickets are a little pricier than the festivals at Summerfest, but with the promotions both have, you can usually find a good deal around. It's the darn beer that gets out of hand. The price you pay for a good time. Ahhhh, the regret.

Who else will play the Marcus Amphitheater this summer?

Since I have the musical taste similar to that of a 16 year old girl, I was awfully excited to see the announcement of Kanye West touring with Rihanna, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco this summer, but as I write this, the closest the Glow in the Dark Tour will be to Milwaukee is Chicago, May 23. I see the tour extends in to early June, so maybe, just maybe Milwaukee will be lucky enough to see this lineup at the Marcus Amphitheater during Summerfest.

The other possibility is to see Kanye come to Milwaukee prior to Summerfest, like The Police playing the Marcus Amphitheater after the Summerfest run.

Rush Only Summerfest Show to have Lawn Seats Thus Far

A limited number of free wristbands will be made available at Summerfest for free access to the lawn area of the Marcus Amphitheater. Of the three shows announced for 2008, Rush is the only band offering this option. Oh, the good times I had as a teenager sittin' on the lawn for a zillion shows. It would be nice if I was that naive to the value of a nice concert ticket these days. Free Rush Lawnseat Summerfest tickets is a first-come kind of thing. Good Luck and enjoy "Tom Sawyer" for the 100th time.

More Summerfest Shows Added for 2008

As we watch the snow fall like mad in Milwaukee, it is hard to believe there is ever a warm, sunny day in this town. But there are many of them headed our way right around the time of Summerfest.

The Summerfest mainstage of the Marcus Amphitheater will host ten big acts over the course of the festival's run. So far, four nights of acts have been announced for 2008. A show at here is always better than an indoor show at the Bradley Center if you ask me. Though Alpine Valley is a close second! It's that damn drive!

I already mentioned a couple, but let's recap.

We have Rush on June 27, Rascal Flatts playing June 30, Tim McGraw tickets are for July 3 and then Super Bowl sweetheart Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Saturday July 5.

Four down, six to go. Tom Petty tickets go on sale this Saturday through Ticketmaster. Remember concert tickets for the Marcus Amphitheater include admission to the Summerfest grounds.
