Dave Matthews Band Plays Summerfest 2014

Dave Matthews Band Summerfest 2014
First debuting at Summerfest as the event’s opening day headliner in 1997, Dave Matthews Band will return again this year to play at the Marcus Amphitheater. On July 2, the legendary act will make their first appearance in Milwaukee since 2010, featuring special guests, acoustic and electronic selections, and the group’s famous jam sessions.  Tickets for Dave Matthews at Summerfest have gone on sale already.

Over 23,000 fans are expected to pack the Marcus Amphitheater for the show, which claims the most ticket sales of any touring act in America during the first decade of the 2000s.

Though a somewhat rare sight at Summerfest, the DaveMatthews Band is no strangers to Wisconsin music festivals. The group has become a favorite annual booking at East Troy’s Alpine Valley, where they sellout the 37,000 person venue every summer. Dave Matthews himself, front-man for the band, has called Alpine Valley one of his top places to play, noting that he had met many fans who had traveled from other states just to see him there. Promoters at Summerfest have already warned that tickets will likely go quick, especially for this headline performance.

As for specifics about the July 2nd show at the Big Gig, the band is keeping quiet. Only former lead guitarist Tim Reynolds is confirmed as a special guest, though fans can probably expect a few surprises yet to be announced.

Dave Matthews Band is one of eight headliners revealed for the 2014 Summerfest so far. Hip-hop duo Outkast became the latest confirmation just last month, joining Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band, Mötley Crüe, and Fallout Boy & Paramore as the others already confirmed. Just two acts remain unannounced, including the closing night slot on July 6.

Motley Crue Summerfest 2014 With Alice Cooper

Two bands that cover a major portion of the rock world are coming to Summerfest 2014. Motley Crue and Alice Cooper will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on July 4.  Motley Crue has been part of the music scene since 1981. The band has had major hits, like Looks That Kill, Home Sweet Home, and Girls, Girls, Girls.  75 million albums later, and the band has decided that this will be their last tour. It rolls through 2015, and then it's over.

Alice Cooper needs no introduction. His stage show is not to be missed. The band has pretty much evolved into Alice and support players, but they do put on one heck of a performance.  The band has made 26 albums spanning forty years. Alice has made appearances in Wayne's World, Dark Shadow, and Skum Rocks. Check out the crazy stage show this summer.
