Summerfest 2007 a Success

Milwaukee's Summerfest ended with attendance and revenues up from last year. Summerfest organizers claim they incresed spending on talent (hard to believe, but ok) and apparently it paid off. Or maybe there was just increased interest as it was the 'fest's 40th Anniversary? With reviews in, it seems like the Bon Jovi and Roger Waters shows were the two people will talk about in years to come.

Bon Jovi Rocked the House

The show went on and on, but in a good way! Bon Jovi hit the stage at 8:30 and didn't stop for 2 hours. The crowd at Summerfest's Marcus Amphitheater was SO EXCITED that their favorite performers were playing on the same stage they played 22 years ago. Hard to believe that much time has passed!

Here is a link to the full review in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Admission 101 for Summerfest 2007

There will be advance sale opportunities along the way for Summerfest tickets, but if you end up buying your tickets at the gates those 10 years of age and older should expect to pay $15/ticket if you enter after 4p, with kids and seniors asked to pay $3/ticket. If you enter between noon and 4p, admission is discounted. Children 2 and under can enter free of charge at any time.

As Summerfest dates near, there will be discount offers and promotions offered to save you a few dollars.

Again though, with your Roger Waters tickets or Bon Jovi tickets or any Marcus Amphitheater tickets, you won't need a separate admission ticket for the Summerfest grounds.

Ticket Update for Announced 2007 Summerfest Shows

I just took a minute to see what the best seats available through Ticketmaster are for the shows at Summerfest. As is always the case with Summerfest and the Marcus Amphitheater, the shows have sold extremely well.

The July 2 Roger Waters show is completely sold out and the only tickets remaining for the July 5 Bon Jovi show are general admission lawn seats.

For the other three shows, The Fray on June 30, John Mayer on July 3 and Toby Keith on July 8 reserved seating is still available, however not in locations of the Marcus Amphitheater I would want to spend my money on. If you don't already have tickets and you are looking for some, without working with a local ticket broker, you'll be sitting in a reserved bleacher seat for Toby Keith, in a (WAY) off-center seat in the yellow section for John Mayer and in an OK reserved seat in the yellow section. But with regard to John Mayer, this is where I would recommend doing your homework; if you spend just $30 more per ticket and buy tickets from a broker like Ticket King, you can buy Section 2 seats, just 30 rows from the cutie-patootie himself (and maybe Jessica too?). Sitting in Sec 2 is a considerable improvement and doesn't set you back as much as you might have thought.
