Paul McCartney is booked for Summerfest 2016! July 8th is the date, and McCartney will certainly sell out the Marcus Amphitheater that night. McCartney tickets include Summerfest admission, and are available at the time of this post. The opening act has yet to be announced.
2016 will be a busy year for Paul, as he's already performing shows in America this April. He's currently on the west coast, playing dates in Seattle, and Vancouver. He comes back to the Midwest United States in May, with two shows in Minneapolis. McCartney will head on back to Europe during parts of this summer, performing at a pair of Music Festivals in The Netherlands in June.
McCartney made fifteen solo albums, along with all his work in the Beatles. His time spent as the leader of Wings, came just a couple of years after the Beatles broke up. Although he's getting older, his shows can run for hours, and stay "high energy" throughout most of the evening. Considering the size of the Marcus Amphitheater, it's best to book your tickets as soon as possible. This musical icon will draw crowds from all over Wisconsin.

Def Leppard Summerfest 2016 Tickets | REO Speedwagon and Tesla Open the Show
Def Leppard is set to play Summerfest 2016 on July 6. They will headline the Marcus Amphitheater stage, with opening acts REO Speedwagon and Tesla. Tickets are on sale now. Leppard last headlined an evening at Summerfest just five years ago. With the two opening acts, it's safe to say that this is an "80's Night" for music fans. Just to be clear, Def Leppard started in 1977, but hit their peak in 1983. What song made them stars? Photograph was the title track on the album named Pyromania. The band has sold over 100 million copies of their library.
What can we say about REO Speedwagon? The band came out as a cover band in the late 1960's. Once Gary Richrath joined the group, the band had turned to harder rock originals. By 1971, they were signed to a major record label. The famous vocal sounds of Kevin Cronin didn't come about until after the band had recorded songs like "Ridin' the Storm Out." That song was sung by Terry Luttrell.
By the early 1980's REO's sound had softened considerably. Songs like "Keep on Lovin' You" and "Heard it From a Friend" had signaled that the band had taken a turn to soft pop. If you want to compare the old REO versus the new, check out 157 Riverside Avenue versus Can't Fight This Feeling. Opening the entire night will be Tesla, another popular 1980's rock band that hit the charts and then faded.

Florida Georgia Line To Perform at Summerfest 2015 on June 24
The "Bro Country" balladeers of Florida Georgia Line will hit the Marcus Amphitheater stage at Summerfest 2015 on June 24. This is the first of many Summerfest concert announcements. Riding that rocket of popularity, after their song "Cruise" hit the top of the charts, the band hopes to fill the venue to the rafters. Opening for the group will be Thomas Rhett, and Frankie Ballard. Tickets to the event are available after 11/6/14.
Florida Georgia Line penned just six songs before getting picked up by Big Mountain Music. The group released a five song EP on Big Mountain, and that's where people found the song Cruise. The pair met during college, and hit it off right off the bat. Four years back the band used the talents of Wesley Walker to get the ball rolling.
Republic Nashville decided to take a shot on the guys, and released "Here's To Good Times." That was just two short years ago. "Cruise" has hit number one, and also been remixed by none other than Nelly. For six months, the song got tons of airplay. The accompanying video features all the right things for fans of "Bro Country." It makes reference to trucks, water, booze, and women. It seems that the formula for that type of music isn't hard to follow. All they want is for you to have a good time. It's working for Florida Georgia Line.

Zac Brown Band Summerfest 2012 Show

Summerfest 2012 will feature the Zac Brown Band at the Marcus Amphitheater on July 5. Judging by the 8 million vews for their video Chicken Fried, I would say that's one of their more popular songs. Zac Brown Summerfest tickets go on sale later this month.
Zac Brown Goes Country
Mr. Brown was a classical guitarist at a very young age. He turned to pop cover songs in his teen years. At some point, he caught the country music bug, and it stuck. Around the age of 24, he put together the Zac Brown band. It was a three piece outfit that travelled extensively. After dabbling in the restaurant business in 2004, Brown sold off his interest and hit the road full time. In order to ramp up the country sound, Brown added strings and back up vocals for those now famous country harmonies. Fast forward to 2005, and the band added a second guitar player and vocalist. He had his first number one hit in 2008. A second top ranking song came in 2009. In that same year, the Zac Brown Band won an award for their Chicken Fried video. It's funny to read that a band that started in 2004, won "Best New Artist" six years later. Brown would also go on to win a Grammy for his song She's Walking Away.

Summerfest Admission Promotions for 2008
If you are headed to Summerfest in Milwaukee this summer without an admission ticket in hand, you will have a few options. On your way to the gate, you will likely encounter a number of guys selling admission tickets. While you might get a fairly good deal, you might also get turned away at the gate because the ticket you bought was stolen or counterfit. While it probably won't happen, there is a chance. Remember that your concert ticket for one of the Marcus Amphitheater shows like Tom Petty, Rascal Flatts or John Mayer already gets you in the door for the rest of the festival grounds. No need for another admission ticket if you are seeing an Amphiteater show.
Summerfest.com has listed the following promotions for this year, each offering fest-goers an opportunity at discounted Summerfest tickets. Each deal, unless otherwise noted runs from noon until the promotion runs out or 3p, whichever comes first. My experience has been that you really need to be there right at noon, or line up early to take advantage of these deals. Then the trick is, that you have to stick around for awhile to get a handstamp to come back in later in the day. So you end up spending all sorts of cash on food and drink waiting for a hand stamp.
