Milwaukee Prepares for nearly one million Summerfest fans

This is it. Milwaukee prepares for almost one million Summerfest fans. What Summerfest shows are most likely to draw the biggest crowds to the free stages? My guess for three of them are Devo on July 4, Passion Pit at the US Cellular stage on June 24th, B.B. King on June 27 at the M & I Classic Rock Stage, and The Offspring at the Harley Roadhouse on July 1. What do these bands have in common? They bring the party fans down to the lakefront. T-minus four days and counting until Summerfest Milwaukee!

Eric Clapton and Roger Daltry Summerfest 2010

Eric Clapton will perform with Roger Daltry on June 28 at Summerfest. Eric Clapton Summerfest Marcus Amphitheater tickets will be in demand, as this show features two artists who have a huge catalog of songs between them. Clapton was best known for being part of Cream, and Daltry was the lead singer of The Who.
Roger Daltry and The Who performed at this year's Super Bowl. Eric Clapton is coming off of a spring tour that featured a collaboration with Jeff Beck and Steve Winwood. Daltry has eight solo albums to his name. Ride A Rock Horse was his best effort. The smash hit movie Tommy is what others remember.
Clapton is a legend on his own. From his work with Cream, Tina Turner, Jeff Beck, and Steve Winwood he covers all the bases of rock and pop.

Who would you like to see take the stage with Bieber?

Milwaukee Alternative Festival June 4, 2010

The Summerfest grounds will play host to the yet-t0-be-named alternative music festival on June 4th and 5th. In a previous post, I failed to list the actual dates. So far, we have yet to hear of the musical acts that will be headlining. It's February, and there is lots of time to book the bands. If you enter the "name this festival" contest, and you win, you will get lots of free passes to the event, and a $100 gift card to be used at Summerfest 2010. Not a bad deal.

Summerfest 2010 Lineup Includes Carrie Underwood July 4th at Marcus Amphitheater

For Summerfest 2010, just announced is Carrie Underwood for the Marcus Amphitheater on July 4th. As this Summerfest announcement comes on this cold and snowy day, country music fans have something to look forward to. Carrie Underwood made her splash on American Idol, and never looked back.

Her first album was titled Some Hearts, came out in 2005, and hit number one on the country charts. She was named Breakthrough Artist Of The Year at the 2006 AMA awards. She hit number one again with her song titled Wasted. That was in 2007. Carnival Ride was her follow up album, and it went to double platnum status in short order.

Things just keep getting better for Carrie Underwood. In 2009, she was named Female Vocalist Of The Year at the CMA Awards. The onsale date has yet to be announced. She's certainly an act that can sell out the Marcus Amphitheater during Summerfest.

Milwaukee Summerfest 2010 Taylor Swift | I can dream of a Marcus Amphitheater show.

In light of my new love for Taylor Swift, I am keeping my fingers crossed that she will perform this summer at Milwaukee Summerfest 2010. 2009 has been a stellar year for Ms. Swift, having several top hits, handling the Kanye West fiasco with grace, being named to People magazine’s list of 25 Most Intriguing People of the year, so I know that I can forget about seeing her at the Miller Oasis. When it comes to Taylor Swift, we’re talking Marcus Amphitheater headliner.

That’s fine with me; I am more than happy to pay extra to see her dazzle the crowd at the Marcus. If Taylor Swift comes to the Marcus, I’d definitely splurge for some luxurious red seats. Hopefully she’ll play during the fireworks display. I love seeing shows at the Marcus that fall during the fireworks, prime location.
