Summerfest 2013 Linup On Side Stages | Highlights 2013
With so many great side stage Summerfest 2013 acts, how can we give proper coverage to all of them? We can't. What we can do is take a moment to highlight just a few of the more amazing bands coming to Milwaukee between June 26, and July 7.
Harley Davidson - Roadhouse June 26 - The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are now thirteen years into bringing you great rock and roll. The band is made up just three musicians. It's fitting that their name is just three little words, with three members, and just three albums to their name. Well, four albums if you count what just came out a few weeks ago.
Miller Lite Oasis - Cake - June 28
Why has Cake managed to stay fresh, seeing that the band has been around for well over a decade? They just can't be pegged. John McCrea and Vince DiFiore are the two original members still banging away. Xan McCurdy and Gabe Nelson joined the group in 1997 (Gabe having left the band in 1994 for a spell,) and Paulo Baldi came on board in 2004.
Summerfest Sports Zone - Summerfest Strongman Contest - June 29
Watch some of the strongest men in the United States compete against each other in power lifting events. Watch these guys try their hand at bench pressing, one hand dumbell clean and press, axle clean and press, and many more. You won't believe your eyes when you see how much weight these competitors can actually throw around.
BMO Harris Pavillion - Alice Cooper - June 30
Alice Cooper has been singing "School Is Out For Summer" for four decades. As lead singer for the group of the same name, his legendary status has grown immensely since those early days way back when. Part theater, part rock and roll, and part ghoulish nightmare, Alice will not disappoint.
