Avett Brothers Return to Summerfest 2015 | Rick Rubin Helps Brothers' Sound

The Avett Brothers will be headlining the Marcus Amphitheater on July 4 at 7:30 p.m. Playing along with the Avett Brothers will be Brandi Carlile. Brandi Carlile is a singer-songwriter who performs in the genres of alternative country and folk rock. She has produced five albums in her career- Brandi Carlile, The Story, Give Up The Ghost, Bear Creek, and The Firewatcher's Daughter, which was released on March 3rd of this year.

The main attractions for the evening, The Avett Brothers, were founded 15 years ago in Concord, North Carolina. The group performs under seven different genres- Roots-rock, Bluegrass, Neo-folk, Folk, Indie Folk, Folk Rock, and Indie Rock. They are most known for their work in the Folk Rock genre. Even though the group was founded back in 2000, their career really took off in 2009 when they hooked up with the great producer Rick Rubin. Also known as DJ Double R, Rick Rubin is originally from Lido Beach, New York. Throughout his career, the 52-year-old producer has worked with many different acts, not limited to, but including Johnny Cash, Jazzy Jay, Run DMC, Kayne West, Adele, Aerosmith AC/DC, Eminem, Kid Rock, Metallica, and The Avett Brothers.

Working with Rubin, the Avett Brothers have produced three albums. The first was called I and Love and You, which was released in 2009 and climbed as high as number 16 in the U.S. The most popular song off of this album was the hit single, also called “I and Love and You”. The second album, released in 2009, The Carpenter, got as high as number 4 on the U.S. charts. The hit song off of this album was the second track, Live and Die. The third album, released in 2013, was Magpie and the Dandelion, has reached as high as number 5 on the U.S. Billboard charts. The hit songs off of this album are the second and 4th tracks, Morning Song and Another is Waiting.
