If you are going to visit Milwaukee during Summerfest, you will have plenty of fun checking out the bands there, but there is always other stuff to check out around the city too....I would take a look at http://www.onmilwaukee.com/ for an easy look at new bars, restaurants in Milwaukee etc.
Unlike last year when the Chicago Cubs were in town to play the Milwaukee Brewers during Summerfest's run; the Brewers are on the road for the 11 days of Summerfest. You could make a road trip down to the Windy City and see the now 2-0 Brew Crew beat up on the Cubbys at Wrigley?
You only have to wait 85 days, 2 hours and 58 minutes for the Summerfest gates to swing open.

When I am in Milwaukee for Summerfest I like to get a cheap room at the Astor and have a pre-fest snack at the Knick. Both are just a short walk from the fest on Juneau St.
