Country star Jason Aldean will headline the Summerfest Amphitheater on June 29th. The Georgia native returns to the event for the first time since 2011, when he debuted on the amphitheater circuit to wide acclaim. Now, two years later, Aldean has become one of the most touted talents in country music, winning nearly 20 individual awards since his first solo-album release in 2005.
Self-titled, his album that year earned him a Best New Male
Vocalist award from the Academy of Country Music and went certified platinum.
Another two albums over the following four years also managed platinum status,
a third went double-platinum, and his most recent venture, Night Train, is
on-pace to sell a comparable number of copies.
Aldean’s Summerfest act precedes a performance at Wrigley
Field on July 20th. Both shows will be part of his 2013 Night Train
Tour, his 10th tour as a solo-artist. Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett
will be featured at the Summerfest performance, joining Aldean in playing a
selection of hit-titles.
The show is also part of the extensive line-up of country
acts coming to Milwaukee this year. Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney were
both in the city in May, Underwood playing the BMO Harris Bradley Center while
Chesney was at Miller Park. Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan will also headline the
Amphitheater at Summerfest in 2013, and Blake Shelton will be at the Bradley
Center in September.
